Tomorrow is Mommy's birthday
more lines on her sweet face.
She doesn't want any presents
She just wants a special place.
That among her teenage children
it finally would be known

Today marks the start of my Mom's stay.
She would have been ninety-six on this day.
There are many things that she has missed.
She can not observe the long continuing list.
Absent from her granddaughter's wedding laughter.
Unable to hold her first infant great-granddaughter.

I really love my mom, and I
Never will forget her,
And all the things she does for me,
Like making me feel better,
Like when she buys me lots of stuff,
A raincoat or a sweater,

Happy birthday, I must say
You're kind and clever I can say
Wrinkles and white hair are just new looks
They won't contribute on your attitude
Happy birthday, Mom
Thank you for helping me in what I become

Happy birthday, Mother,
Even though you might prefer
Life without these markers,
Each too public to defer.
Now that you are fifty,
Sing to us your own sweet song,
That we might celebrate your life,

Dearest mom
There is a time in every womanâ's life when she understands her mother better than what she cares to admit.
Today, I am admitting that I understand you better now.
How so and why now?
I understand that there is nothing that you would not do for me if its within your power
That there is nothing that you would not protect me from even if it costs you your life
That there is nothing that can make you love me less but plenty that can make you love me more
